We, Seoul English Village Gwanak Camp [Seoul, South Korea] are looking for qualified native-English speaking ESL instructors.
Opening March 29, 2010, we are located in the Seoul National University area.
Our programs are unique and different from the traditional hagwon-type curriculum. In some respects it is comparable to a public school.

Amenities at Seoul Kwanak Camp :
• Payment: 2.0 -2.4 Million Won/ Month.
• Contract Period: 1 Year or 6 Months
• Working Hour: Teach about 30 hours per week. (Mon-Sun)
Employee will work eight (8) hour per day (excluding lunch time from 12-1pm) for five (5) calendar days
(including weekends for the Sunday schedule) per week.
Program and activity hours are also scheduled to fulfill the 40-hour working week.
• Round-trip airfare for a 12-month contract, or one-way airfare for a 6-month.
• Severance pay for 12-month contracts; the twelfth month is paid double.

Job Summary:
Program Leaders at THINK Together work directly with an assigned class of approximately 20-25 students, acting as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor. Program Leaders must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe and nurturing environment for the students they teach. A program leader’s ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, will be required in giving our students the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed. Hours:
• 15-20 Hours/Week - These are 3-4 hour shifts each afternoon
• You must be able to work every day, Monday through Friday between the hours of 1pm-6pm

Description of Duties:
• provide homework assistance, lead academic enrichment and physical activity using curriculum and materials provided by the program
• Serve as a positive adult role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students in accordance with child safety guidelines.
• Identify student needs and communicate to Site Coordinator, teachers, school administration, parents, and volunteers as appropriate.

Requirements:

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (LDP)
Arizona – 6 weeks – September 23rd - November 4th 2010

LDP was created to offer opportunities to people interested in pursuing employment with outdoor education and adventure-based programs in a leadership capacity. Working with the Northwest Youth Corps, a respected conservation-based organization, and AmeriCorps, LDP members participate in a rigorous curriculum designed to broaden their scope and range in skills such as WILDERNESS RISK MANAGEMENT, TEAM-BUILDING, COMMUNICATION, CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, and LEADERSHIP.

This program integrates leadership theory, scenarios, and a hands-on approach using physically demanding conservation work and time-intensive education in our public lands to facilitate the growth and development of leaders in a crew-based setting. The team growth is fostered through frequent feedback from a highly-trained leader and from the peer group.

Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent. Additional background in environmental education, outdoor recreation, and/or resource management desired, but not required.
Experience: Applicants will be reviewed considering past work experience, outdoor recreation background, prior leadership roles, volunteer experience, and experience working with youth.
Physical Condition: Candidates MUST be in good physical condition, capable and willing to work long hours on strenuous, labor-intensive projects. Work often requires heavy lifting, bending, digging, and extensive backcountry travel. Applicants must be able to backpack up to 12 miles a day while carrying up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
Participants earn $1,250.00 in taxable income for successfully completing the program.
Participants will also be eligible to receive a $1132 Americorps Education Award.
All crew meals and tent lodging included.

Boys and girls ages 5-15 are enrolled and students are placed into classes according to age and skill level.

Our Hip Hop Dance program is popular with both girls and boys. Instructors promote artistic expression, movement, and teamwork in a fun musical environment!
